

The Chestnut Nursery School is a Local Authority purpose-built nursery in Exeter, Devon dedicated to the education of children between 3 and 5 years old. The Nursery opened in 1949 and continues to provide high-quality Early Education and Care for children aged from 3 to 5 years. It is open plan with plenty of outdoor space and carpeted areas. There is a covered veranda, a specialist designed large outdoor play area, a beautiful garden in which the children grow vegetables and flowers and a soft play area. The Nursery School is part of the Chestnut Children's Centre where we have NHS Health visiting and Family Support teams which offer a range of services for all families with children from birth to 5 years old. The Nursery has long established links with the community and we offer a very warm welcome to all families, and we pride ourselves on developing close partnership with parents. The Nursery School is open on weekdays during school term times only. Click here for our term dates Sessions are available from 9 am to 12 noon, and from 12 noon to 3 pm Monday to Friday. Our school has been given the' Healthy School' award by Devon County Council. School lunches are freshly cooked on the premises and free healthy snacks are provided during morning and afternoon sessions. return to top
